CRPOI knows that research and policy development that does not take seriously the expertise of impacted populations can result in scholarship and policy action that is meaningless, or worse – harmful, to incarcerated and criminalized people. CRPOI is founded in a commitment to centring the voices and perspectives of criminalized people to ensure that our work is accessible, effective, action-oriented, and ethical.
Our National Expert Advisory Roster provides opportunities for individuals with lived experience of incarceration, community-release, and diverse research and community advocacy processes to share their priorities, interests and passions with CRPOI members, and play an active role in research and policy development and action.
How the CRPOI National Expert Advisory Roster Works
Through the Member’s only section of this website, you will be connected to researchers and NGO’s who are focused on understanding the impacts of incarceration and criminalization in Canada.
Your name and areas of research interest and specialization will be listed in a roster which is only accessible by members of CRPOI. CRPOI members can search the roster and invite you into paid research guidance, planning, advisory and/or feedback roles in various research projects.
If you would like to become an Expert Advisor for CRPOI, please complete the form below. We will then follow up with next steps.
